The Thing That Is Holding You Back

For the longest time i struggled to trust God.

Trust His word..

Trust His character

Trust His will

His timing

His plan

What ever you want to call it it

I prayed to hear His voice over and over

But when He spoke i had every excuse in the book on how it wasn’t Him.

I second guessed the most wise the most trustworthy the greatest champion for good that ever has or will ever exist because I didn’t understand or couldn’t see the future.

I was blinded in my struggle

But once i was able to lay it to rest.

That he was good

His way was best

His timing was intentional

His love was infaluable,

My eyes were opened to the truth

This is where the enemy wants us

This is where we are trapped in the cage

Docile and frustrated

Complaining and worrying

This is the suffering of doubt.

But once it is settled.

You begin to realize the question we’ve been asking this whole time

Can I trust God?

Was the seed of doubt that kept you back from becoming who you were always made to be.

Can you trust God?

Of course you can trust God

Who else has kept his word over millennia?

Who else has the wisdom of an eternity of experience

Who else can read the intentions of mans heart?

Who else is outside of both space and time and can see all things in all places all the time?

Can you trust God!

Don’t be ridiculous.

OF COURSE YOU CAN

Once it is settled in your heart that you can put your full weight of your past present and future in him, your dreams your finances your sexuality your goals all of it. Only then will you be free.

Only then can you begin to ask the question you were created to answer.

Can God Trust me?

Can he trust me to be faithful to him?

Can he trust me to obey his commands

Can he trust me be a good son and take up the family business of restoring his creation?

Can he trust me to be his good friend and take care of his family and his children?

Can he trust me to reflect him well in my home to my wife and kids?

Even if it is difficult

Even if it is dangerous

Even if it will get me killed

Or exiled from my social status and groups

Even if it means i give up my job

Even if it means that i remain celibate

No matter what the Even if is. Can he trust you?

That is the question we should be spending our whole life answering.

If you want the well done good and faithful at the end of your days, do what you must do to settle in your heart that you can trust God and go into your bathroom, look into your mirror and ask your self, sincerely and directly.

AM I SOME ONE GOD CAN TRUST?!

And yeah i know

Easier said than done.

Well we never signed up for easy.

We signed up for death to self and Life in Christ

Nothing about that sounds easy.

But here’s the Good news.

You can start today.

Trust in His word that tells us that God will finish the work he began in you.

Keep putting more and more of your weight on him

It may take you a year to get it settled

It may take you a day

It might take you a decade

But eventually this surrender is required

Get going.

Start today

Stop making excuses.
