It's Time To Get Divorced

Get Divorced and Make It Ugly 

Please hear me out. 

Death is more than a one time event. It is also a cancer that grows mentally, physically, and spiritually. It doesn’t create, but it twists what is already there. You were born into a world of it, and it infected you from the beginning. Death hates you, it wants to take everything from you, it wants to cripple you, it wants to you gone. Period. 

Yet we make friends with it all the time. 

We embrace things that welcome death even more into our bodies, our spirits, our minds. 

God wants us to live the way of Life. The way that has nothing to do with the kingdom of death. 

When I help someone thrive in their calling I often look at where their purpose, their intentions, their actions are being twisted and they’ve allowed death to thrive in them. 

It might feel like you’ve been stuck in the same trap over and over.

It might feel like no one understands you and you are always misunderstood.

It might feel like your energy is gone all the time and you can never do the things that are stirring inside you.

But if you want to be ALIVE, to grow, to create, to thrive, to reach your fullest potential, you have to have an ugly divorce with death. 

This is not some “joint custody” deal. This is not getting divorced but we still hook up on the weekends. It has to be a “I’ll burn down the summer home so she don’t get it” kind of divorce. She’s not welcome in your home, she’s not welcome around your kids, you have the restraining order filed, all of it. It is not a mutual, kind event. It is war. 

You were made to reflect Our Father in heaven. Death wants to twist that and make that part of you crumble. 

You were made to be creative like Him, to see life flourish like Him, to make things beautiful like Him. 

Theres a word for this in the Bible.

Its called Holiness. 

Holiness is to be set apart. 

Many people live like there is 2 inches between “God is good” and “bad is bad”. But the reality is that God is SO GOOD, and death is SO BAD, that there is a million mile gap between the two. 

Holiness is embracing the reflection of the Father that we were made to be, and mercilessly, savagely, with no remorse, divorcing the things that bring death into your life. 

This is not religious cold legalism. 

This is getting rid of the cancer that is holding you back from who God has made you to be.

What would you do without fear, sin, hatred, pride? How much further would you go!

If you want to know how to do this, the only way is through Christ. He is the one that gives us His holiness, and gives us a way to enter into the Garden with Our Father in heaven, to be restored by Him, to become more and more like Him. You have the potential to become so much more than you are. Don’t let yourself be held back by death anymore. File your divorce papers today, and make it UGLY.
